PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION
  (a) SPOT SELECTION (Except Lateral Entry Programmes)
    If the applicant living near any of our Study Centres, he/she can step in for Spot Admission. Selection for direct admission to all the programmes will be made at the Study Centres. (Lateral Entry Programmes for which the applicants should submit their application to the Directorate of Distance Education for consideration).
    For Spot Selection, the candidates must submit the following documents in person:
(i) Filled in application along with attested xerox copies of Certificates for minimum required eligibility qualification and age.
(ii) Certificates in Original for minimum required eligibility qualification and Transfer/Migration Certificate.
(iii) Three stamp size Photographs for Application & Identity Card.
(iv) A Demand Draft drawn in favour of The Director, DDE, Annamalai University for the prescribed fees as per the Item No. 5 for the Mode of Payment.
(v) For M.Sc. Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology Applicants should mention their Ancillary Papers and its percentage in the eligibility column of Application.
    Original Certificates will be returned immediately after verification. The Transfer Certificate/Migration Certificate will also be handed over after affixing the seal that the candidate is admitted during the year
    Such admissions will be confirmed, by the Director and will be cancelled if found not eligible.

(b) ADMISSION THROUGH POST
    If the applicant's place is not near any of the Study Centres, he/she should send the filled in application to the Director, Directorate of Distance Education, Annamalai University, Annamalainagar - 608 002 along with attested xerox copies of (i) Certificates for minimum required qualification, (ii) Transfer/ Migration Certificate and (iii) Stamp size photograph for Identity Card.
    Students seeking admission through post need not enclose the originals and demand draft along with the admission application.
    On receipt of provisional admission card you will have to send by Registered post or Courier or Speed post or in person the Original Certificate in support of (i) educational qualification (ii) original Transfer/ Migration Certificate (for which attested xerox copies have been enclosed in the application form) and a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Director, Directorate of Distance Education, Annamalai University for the prescribed fee, observing the guide lines in the Mode of Payment.
    The admission confirmation, the signed identity card and the original certificates including Transfer Certificate/Migration Certificate after affixing of the seal that the candidate is admitted during the year will be returned to the student by Registered post.
    If the certificates submitted by the candidate are found bogus/fake his/her admission will be cancelled and the fees remitted will also be forfeited.

(c) ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR LATERAL ENTRY PROGRAMMES
    (i) Second Year: The candidates seeking admission to the II year should have successfully completed the 1st year of the study from any recognised university in the same discipline with atleast 75% of syllabi common to this University.
    (ii) Third Year: The candidates seeking admission to the III year should have successfully completed the 1st and 2nd year of the study from any recognised university in the same discipline with atleast 75% of syllabi common to this University.
    The candidates should enclose their original markslist, Transfer certificate/Migration Certificate along with evidence for Date of Birth and an attested Xerox copy of the syllabus which he has studied along with the application.
    The candidate those who have already completed the duration of the programme in full are not eligible for admission to Lateral Entry Programmes.
