Placement Prospects: The students with knowledge relating to socio-cultural perspectives of health are likely to get better prospect for employment in the Departments of Demography, Community Medicine in the Medical Colleges, Census, Health and Family Welfare, national Sample Survey, Sample Registration System, HIV/AIDS Control, Integrated Health Projects, etc.

TOURISM

Duration: One Academic Year - Full time - July to April.

Eligibility for Admission: Candidates for admission to the P.G. Diploma Programme in tourism should have qualified for a Bachelor's degree of this University or any other University accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto.

ARCHIVES KEEPING

Duration: One Academic Year - Part-time - Evening Programme.
Eligibility for Admission: A pass in M.A. degree with History or Archaeology as main subject.

This is a Job Oriented Course useful for the Post-Graduate Students of History and Archaeology.

FULL-TIME: DIPLOMA PROGRAMME IN TAMIL

Duration: One Academic Year- Full-Time - July to April.
Eligibility for Admission: Only graduates shall be admitted to this programme. Other candidates may be considered in special circumstances with the permission of the Vice-Chancellor.

FULL-TIME: CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME IN TAMIL

Eight weeks intensive programme in spoken Tamil. The programme will be conducted twice a year, the first one starting on the first working day of October, and the second one starting on the first working day of January, and shall extend over eight full weeks. No candidate shall be admitted to the programme unless he/she is a graduate. Other candidates may be considered in special circumstances with the permission of the Vice-Chancellor.

PART-TIME : CERTIFICATE PROGRAMME IN TAMIL FOR MEDICAL GRADUATES

Eligibility for Admission: Medical students and staff members whose mother tongue is not Tamil.

PART-TIME : P.G. DIPLOMA PROGRAMME IN ADULT AND CONTINUING EDUCATION

Duration:One Academic Year- Part-time – Evening Programme.
Eligibility for Admission: A Second Class in P.G Course of any Branch recognized by the University. Preference will be given to those having field experience or necessary aptitude in Adult Continuing Education.

PART-TIME : P.G. DIPLOMA IN RETAIL BANKING

2 year PG stream and for the students pursuing Fourth year M.Com Integrated Programme provided he/she cleared all the papers up to III year.
Scope of P.G. Diploma in Retail Banking
The programme aims at giving expert knowledge in retail banking operations and makes the students technologically component to offer front office services effectively by exposing them to real life situations through e-learning modules in collaborations with the ICICI Bank.
