For allocation of seats under the merit category, the rules of communal reservation prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu will be followed.
The University would at its discretion, may also admit NRI/Foreign National Candidates. |
| Eligibility
for Admission |
Any Candidate who is a citizen of India with the following academic qualification can apply:
Pass in Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) of Tamilnadu with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually or an equivalent examination with
1) A minimum of 50% aggregate marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
2) Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes are however eligible if they have 40% aggregate marks taken together in the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and have passed the examination in those subjects as well as in English.
M.B.B.S. Degree holders (medical graduates) recognised by the Medical Council of India are eligible to apply for admission to the third year B.D.S. degree programme of this University.
Any candidate who is an NRI/Foreign National with the minimum qualification as per DCI norms is eligible. |

| METHOD OF SELECTION |
Candidates
seeking admission for B.D.S.
Programme is required to appear
for an interview in Annamalai
Nagar at their own expense
on the dates intimated to
them (NRIs/Foreign National
- exempted).
Selection of candidates for
B.D.S Degree Programme will
be made on the basis of the
performance of the candidates
in the Qualifying examination,
Entrance Examination and the
Interview. The marks in the
precribed subjects in the
qualifying examination calculated
to a total of 200 will be
added to the marks obtained
in the entrance examination
out of 100 and in the interview
out of 30. The ranking and
selection will be made on
the basis of the aggregate
marks obtained out of a total
of 330. |

Selection will be made based on the marks in the prescribed subjects of the qualifying examinations. |
GENERAL
NOTE:
Code of Conduct
The
following code of conduct
shall be observed by the students
who are admitted:
- The
students conduct themselves
in an exemplary manner so
as to be a model for other
students.
- All students
will have to strictly adhere
to the rules and regulations
of the college.
- If any
student is involved in ragging
or any other anti social activities,
he/she will be expelled and
criminalproceedings
may be launched against him/her.
- The students
should be present during all
working hours and sincerely
apply themselves to studies.
- The students
should attend the classes
regularly and punctually.
A minimum attendance of 80%
in each subject is
required to be eligible to
appear for the University
Examinations.
- The campus
is "Smoke Free and Liquor
Free". Deviants will
face dismissal from the Programme.
- The students
are forbidden from using powered
two wheelers inside the campus.
- Using the phones inside the faculty premises is prohibited.

| GENERAL NOTE TO APPLICANTS
/ SELECTED CANDIDATES |
| 1)
Service charges for refund
of tuition fee and return
of certificate in the first
year will be collected @ Rs.1,500/-
when the seats have been subsequently
filled up. |
| 2)
If the student attended the
classes and then leave the
institution (when the seats
have been filled up subsequently),
proportionate tuition fee
from the total fee of the
programme will be deducted
in addition to service charges. |
| 3)
The candidate should pay the
entire programme fee minus
whatever has been already
paid, if he/she discontinues
the programme after the close
of admission and the vacancy
is not filled up. |
| 4)
Tuition fees for the entire
programme together with arrears
if any, shall be payable by
the student before Transfer
Certificate is issued. |
| 5)
Special fee for the remaining
period of programme shall
be waived. |
| 6)
Caution deposit shall be refunded
after adjustment towards any
dues from the student. |
| 7)
No certificate will be issued,
unless the candidate has cleared
all the arrears of fees etc.,
due to the University. |
| 8)
With regard to any dispute
related to admission, examinations,
remittance of fees, etc.,
the place of jurisdiction
for the purpose of filing
a suit, preferring a complaint
or taking any legal proceedings
against the Annamalai University,
will be Chidambaram Town only. |
| 9)
Original marks list or other
certificates should not be
sent along with the application.
Only attested copies of documents
need to be sent. |
| 10)
Every application accompanied
by a self addressed post-card
will be acknowledged by the
return of the post-card with
the University stamp impressed
on the card. The number printed
at the right hand corner of
the application denotes the
application number. The entrance
examination number is given
in the Entrance Examination
application form which should
be filled up by the candidate
in the application form. A
Xerox copy of Hall ticket
may also be attached along
with application. |
Admission to hostel: (UG)
Admission to the hostel will be strictly restricted to actual accommodation available and no associate will be allowed. The room rent and establishment charges will be at the rate fixed from time to time. |
SCHOLARSHIP SANCTIONED BY THE GOVERNMENT OF TAMIL NADU
Self Financing Programmes (B.D.S.) Scholarship:
Post Metric Scholarship will be awarded to the Students studying self finance programmes belonging to SC/ST Community and also Converted Students whose Parent’s/Guardian’s annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs 2,00,000/- per annum for SC Students and Rs 1,45,000/- per annum for ST Students.
Higher Education Special Scholarship: In addition to the Post Metric Scholarship, Higher Education Special Scholarship is awarded to the hostel students belonging to SC/ST community and Converted Christian (converted from SC/ST) the number of scholarship is limited by the Government. The Annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs 1,00,000/- per annum. |

GENERAL INFORMATION |
The following procedures should be followed for applying/getting certificates viz., Bonafide/Course Completion/Mark Lists etc. with the fee prescribed by the University. |
| 1. General |
Mark list for each Semester/Year during the period of study will be issued by the University and distributed through the respective department of study. On Completion of the Progamme, Provisional Certificate and Transfer Certificate will also be distributed through the department concerned. |
| 2. Migration Certificate |
This Certificate will be issued by the office only on demand to those who are planned to undergo higher studies in any Educational Institutions in India. |
| 3. Duplicate Certificate – Mark List / Degree / Transfer Certificate |
Untraceable certificate from the police department is required to be produced for the loss of Certificates indicating that the Certificate were actually lost beyond recovery. |
| 4. Degree Certificate |
Notification will be issued in leading dailies during the month of September / October of every year for calling of application forms for getting Degree Certificate at the Convocation. Students shall apply for the same based on the notification for getting degree in the prescribed form which can be obtained from the University. |

him not later than 10-06-2011. |
| Original Certificates submitted at the time of admission are not returnable till the end of the Programme. Before the certificates are surrendered for admission, the candidates are advised to have with them attested copies of mark lists or other certificates that may be required for applying scholarships etc. |
Late applications and applications which are not in the prescribed form or which are not correctly filled in or in respect of which the prescribed certificates and documents are not received on or before the due date and applications which do not otherwise fulfil the terms of the instructions, will be considered defective and are liable for rejection. The University will not be responsible for any postal or other kinds of delay for the receipt of applications after the due date. |
