Divisions
The library is extending both traditional and IT based services. The library has eight different divisions carrying out various Library professional activities.
1. Stack Area
The major collection of the library is housed in various racks according to the subjects. The Stack Area consists of books on all branches of engineering & technology. In this section all the textbooks and reference books are available for borrowing by the users.
2. Reference Division
Encyclopaedias, Handbooks, Dictionaries, Data books, Tables and some rare books are kept in this section for reference. More than 2500 documents are available in this division.
3. Text Reference Division
Prescribed text books of all disciplines of Engineering & Technology, numbering about 15, 000 have been purchased and are kept only for reference.
4. Circulation Division
This division deals with enrolment of the students, teaching faculty, office staff / non-teaching staff, research scholars etc., as members of the library. The section performs the responsibility of book issue, return and issuing of no due certificate to its members. The FEAT Library has the LIBA SOFT library management software for the house keeping functions of the Library. Every document in the Library bears a bar code tag which is used for issue and return purpose of the documents
5. Journal Division
About 77 national & international journals are subscribed for the faculty library. The journal articles are indexed and catalogue has been prepared subject wise from the year 2005. Apart from journal the leading magazines like India today, Wisdom, Times of India etc. and the daily newspapers-The Hindu & the Indian Express are subscribed.
6. Proficiency Cell Division
This cell is having a collection of books (1534) on objective type for all Engineering discipline like GRE, TOEFL, GMAT, TNPSC, GATE, IELTs., CAT, Civil Service Exam, UPSC, technical communication & all other competitive exam oriented books. Question Bank of other universities and General Knowledge books are also kept for reference. 7. Book Bank Division
About 4,000 books related to different disciplines of Engineering & Technology are placed subject wise for the use of the SC/ST students funded by the SC/ST welfare department (Central Government). The books are issued only to the SC/ST students and they are permitted to keep be books until their exams are getting over. For other students, the books will be only for reference or permitted to take photocopies of few pages. 8.Computer Division
Totally 34 computer systems are provided for students & faculty members for the purpose of internet and e-journal access. Average user for this division per month is 1960.
LIBRARY AUTOMATION: The Library software "LIBASOFT" is functioning well with one server & 6 nodes. The software is menu driven & user friendly. The book database, journal database and the article database contains more than 50,000 records.
DIGITAL LIBRARY INITIATIVES: Digix software for document indexing system with standard features and a canon scanner is available. The documents are scanned and uploaded in the intranet based server. The e-recourses are available on the Intranet of the university. The question paper & Hand book can be copied / printed. All the users can access the e-resources only after generating a login name & password in the FEAT Library. At present about 500 documents (projects, conference proceedings, old/ rare books) are uploaded for the user service. Some of the subject portals with respect to Science & Technology are in progress.

INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP |

INDEST: The FEAT Library is a member of The INDEST (Indian National Digital Library in Engineering Science and Technology) consortium. The library has subscribed science direct, IEL online, ASCE, ASME, etc., in the previous years. This year IEEE package has been subscribed for the users of the library with multiple accesses.
DELNET: The Library is a member institute of the DELNET (Developing Library Network). Inter Library Loan facility and Document Delivery Services (National and International Journal articles) are made available for the users. |
FACILITIES

The library provides open access system. |

The Document Delivery Service (Reprints of Journals) and the Inter Library Loan (ILL) service are provided through the DELNET. |

The OPAC facility for the Library Data Base can be searched by Author, title,
accession No, subject, user, and keyword. |

Books that are borrowed should be returned on/ before the due date |

In the case of books that are borrowed were missed, new books should be replaced. |

Bar-coded issue & return for quick processing. |

The Xerox facility is provided to all users on special occasions. |

Internet & e- journal facility to Faculty and Students. |
|
The borrowing limit of various user categories are : Students- 4, Research scholars-10, Faculty members-20, and Non-teaching staff- 2. |
