Special Assistance Programme – Departmental Research Support
SAP–DRS–1 is sanctioned by UGC to Department of Business Administration during the period of five years 2013-2018. UGC was sanctioned Rs.55 lakhs under SAP programme. Recurring grant of Rs.33 lakhs for the period of five years and Non-recurring grant of Rs.22 lakhs. The SAP programme is intended with an objective to impart managerial skill development for Self-Help-Group (SHG) members of Cuddalore district.
Skill Development Course
Skill Development Course aims in inculcating and harnessing their inbuilt skills towards their personal growth. It believes in integrating hands on skills into higher education. The course is designed to develop vocabulary, comprehension skill, presentation skill, public speaking skill and other career objectives. It develops the confidence of the students to meet out the corporate needs.
Industry Institute Partnership Cell
Industry Institute Partnership Cell is established for enhancing the relationship between the institute and industry. It has conducted a Retail Seminar, encourages students to undertake Industrial Survey, organises Leader Lecture series, and coordinates Industrial visits.
Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp under NIMAT Project
The Department of Business Administration through Entrepreneurial Club has conducted 10 batches of Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps each three days since 2016 for the outgoing students of Annamalai University sponsored by National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, DST – New Delhi. Under this NIMAT project, more than 1000 students from various disciplines including Engineering, Agriculture, Dental and Pharmacy students have got benefitted. The project amount is Rs.2,00,000/-
Faculty Development Programme on Entrepreneurship under NIMAT Project
The Department has conducted two batches of Faculty Development Programme on “ENTREPRENEURSHIP” through Entrepreneurial Club sponsored by National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, DST – New Delhi. The programme has been conducted for 14 days each accommodated with 20 faculty members and got benefitted. The programme has been conducted under the project name NIMAT, with the sponsored amount of Rs.5,00,000/-.
The Brand Tree
A student development activity titled THE BRAND TREE organised in order to enrich and enhance the knowledge on marketing management. Each student has to collect one company’s brief history, product mix, last year sales turnover and top executives of the company. It will helps them to inculcate their in-depth knowledge in the field of marketing. The lists of brands were noted in small chart and hanged in the branches of the tree.
Management Research Forum (MRF)
MRF was established to enhance the quality of research work and improve the research talents of research scholars of the Department of Business Administration. MRF has made arrangements for special lectures by eminent resource persons from different departments on thrust areas of research. The forum motivate researchers to discuss their experience and findings in their special research area and also to present their published research work. MRF also made arrangements for sharing of expertise and talents of eminent professors of Department of Business Administration.
The Department of Business Administration, Annamalai University organizes a one day man meet AUDBA QUEST. AUDBA QUEST has a bouquet of five events that include;
- Business quiz as a test of business knowledge,
- Best Manager where the contestant will be tested for endurance on physical, mental and technical capabilities,
- Corporate Show to showcase the corporate citizenship perceived by present day management students,
- Ad-zap to stimulate the ingenuity and creativity that’s needed to promote a product and
- Business Plan where one is expected to provide fresh out of the box ideas.
Overall the event teaches the students the skills needed to organize, design and host an event that includes students from more than 50 business schools. The event is a test of skill for both the designers of the program and the contestant who battles for the prize.

This corner gives you a platform to showcase the innovative zeal and opportunity to creatively engage various departmental (M.B.A) activities. From time to time the students will need creative inputs on the creativity related aspects of their initiatives. The scope is extensive the work is intensive and the end result extremely satisfying.
Cultural and Literary Committee
The Department has a Cultural and Literary Committee to showcase the talents of students. It aims to develop management skills for the students by having a motto of “For the Students, By the Students and Through the Students”. It acts as an extracurricular activity for them to vent out their pressure and stress. Event management being an important skill needed for the business and corporate world, learn through practice by organising and managing the events with the help and guidance of the cultural committee. Team building, coordination, communication, planning, delegation, crisis management are the skills learned by students by organising such events. The committee also coordinates and prepares them for literary and cultural competitions organised by other departments of the University, other colleges and Universities. It also organises various on-stage and off-stage competitions for students. A flagship event “EXTRAVAGANZA” – the cultural fest and “TALENTZ” – the literary fest are conducted annually.
The Department of Business Administration organizes “Executive Sports Meet” every year to MBA Students with the Assistance of Physical Education Department in Sports Pavilion. Sports and games are conducted for both female and male students. The Sports meet help them to take good decisions and improve their organizing skills. The sports meet is organized by the students and for the students under the supervision of Faculty Members. Our Students organize and participate in the events like football, volleyball, cricket, tennis, kho-kho, kabaddi, table tennis, ring ball, hand ball, indoor basketball, and athletic events.
Sports play a great role in everyone’s busy life especially for students and it is necessary because it brings physical and mental fitness to the person involved on regular basis. Management students always have busy schedule in regular life and get tired very easily. As we all know that, living a relaxed and comfort life we need a sound mind and a sound body. Education is very necessary to get name, fame and money. In the same way, getting a sound mind and body, everyone must involve in some type of physical activities for which sports is the best way.
